The Bigger Picture

Now that I'm out of the middle of that situation, I feel like I can think more rationally. more OBJECTIVELY.. Ha ha ha

In saying that... I still feel like a lot of what I said has truth in it and it was purely because I got so worked up about this situation, that I got deep down inside my head where these thoughts were.

Looking back at this week it would seem that I lot of the decisions I made in my head were based on emotions. Was that because I ran out of logical solutions to the issues? Or because they were highly emotional issues in themselves and I didn't have the experience to know the BEST approach to take? Did I just flip my lid from lack of sleep and stresses from other areas in life? Probably a mixture...

I guess if I was to take anything from this it would be this:

God's got it all under control.

...as usual it certainly didn't feel like it or look like it but I have faith that He does. And that's what it's all about isn't it? Having that relationship with God so that you know His character inside out and you just know that there's no where you can run and hide without Him being right there next to you, accepting you for who you are and loving you unconditionally.

It's not about what I know...

...It's about what everyone else perceives it as.

Doesn't matter if I have the best of intentions, my head is in the right place and my heart has been searched, it still boils down to others opinions of the situation. They usually don't know the whole story, and don't really want to either, they just want something to talk about and discuss that could maybe, just maybe, be worse then their lives. They live in the façade that if they are discussing someone else's problems then they can avoid their own issues.

"What do I do to ignore them behind me? Do I follow my instincts blindly?"

Apparently you're own first hand experience of the situation and events and people are not enough. Apparently you have to go with the general external opinion, which I have found is generated by people who are also scared of what others might think.

It's true that you can learn A LOT from those around you, especially if they have a good solid OBJECTIVE point of view.

It just drives me postal when stigma is tagged all over something that is quite innocent and possibly even helpful.

Jesus never seemed to worry about what others thought of him. He hung out with all the rejects of society, be they male or female, and just did what He knew was good and beneficial to them.

These days the worst is assumed of people based on a quick analysis of the exterior behaviour of people. Few seem to stop and take the time out to get close enough to these people, that struggle like we all do, and find out what really makes them behave the way they do.

We're all too busy wrapping them up and putting them in a box so we can feel better about the awesome people we are.

It's a load of . . .
